It really depends on a number of factors.

Scarcity of supply, demand and condition.

I think Demand is pretty solid. I know over the years when I was looking for an SPG in good/minty condition, I was willing to pay at the top of the range. I was looking for a daily driver and my rationalization was, I can spend $5-7K on a car I love, or spend more on a "newer" used car that I would not enjoy. I couldn't imagine getting a civic or a focus instead. I know there are more people like me looking for well cared for C900s than there is available supply. It took me months to find my last one, and I ended up having it shipped from the east coast. So, I spent $700 to have a 23yo car shipped, knowing I still needed to put a couple of bucks into it.

The Chicago area has an even smaller supply available, so a good/excellent condition C900 here probably is going to go for more than one on the east coast. So a scarce SPG, scarcer yet in the Midwest, then scarce in good condition will bring a good price. I sold my last week for my asking price (started it high, and revised it down once) and and I'm pretty sure the DR. that bought it would've paid $1-2K more. I know when I was looking, I was prepared to pay the same price.

That was my 4th Saab, and I've been looking at craigslist ads and the classified here since I sold her. I can't buy another one for a few years, but when I do, it won't be a daily driver this time. I will own my first that is a garage queen.
