I think the trick is getting the right one. I've had maybe 14 c900s in my quest to find one to drive till it dies, and all had their few moments of perfection that made months of repair totally worth it... Before something dire went wrong again. But then I found a '94 commemorative edition a few years back that drove like it just came off the showroom floor. NOTHING was as satisfying to drive. Dropping the top and cruising home after work every day felt like sitting back in a hot tub all the way home. Then my wife crashed it. We recently bought a 9000 aero for her and it's also a dream to drive - they really fixed a lot of c900 problems while trying tp retain and even amplify the saab driving experience. It's just wide enough to feel luxury - every other car that we drove would not fit a baby carseat in the back without having to cram the front seats up to the dash - even SUVs. Only the 9000 felt capable of a baby with enough boost to keep it an adventure. I would buy another one any day as long as its in great shape and under $2000 - only other cars for that price are junk. I however am in a restored 1980 900t and enjoy every minute of it. Super old engine, loud as a lawn tractor, retro style, no safety features, and I feel like a million bucks. Like Chris i hope to be driving c900s till I can't drive any more.
