my indy gets them for the towing charge... $500 is reasonable if the body and interior is in good shape... but it is a lot of work. My indy fixes them up and resells them, but it is a ton of work even for him. We got a sedan when we wanted a wagon because so few were available. The sedan is ok, but I still wish we could have found a wagon and may still do so... though the devil you know is better than the devil you don't and we've got our 9-5 pretty well sorted! So you are wise to be patient.
Now if that was $500 for a clean c900 with a bad motor, it would be a no brainer! A rust free body is going to be worth something soon.
