Oil leak question Posted by Haskell60 [Email] (#1511) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Haskell60) on Mon, 21 Apr 2014 18:31:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi/help:
So my project car (90 SPG engine/tranny in the body of a 92 base model) is coming along great. Next week I am having my SAAB mechanic replace the valve cover gasket and distributor due to oil leaks. Now that I've been driving it, I notice that the oil leak puddle under the car grows larger after it has been parked and engine turned off. Today I looked at the car, which hasn't run for 3 days, and the puddle is bigger than the day after I turned it off.
What could make the oil leak when the car is turned off? Could it be something more sinister than the valve cover gasket or distributor (which makes the turbo shield wet it leaks so bad).
Thanks, Rich
