Wipe down the whole area, or wash it down with solvent on a rag. You can buy a cheap can of spray foot powder at Family Dollar, and spray suspect areas. The oil will leave a plain track on that if it drips down it.

The drain plug has for sure been in and out many many times over the years. It can get marred, its sealing surface can get marred, etc. DO NOT simply overtighten it if this is the source of your seepage. Ask the shop to take a close look at it and if the plug is bad, replace it.

And yeah, power steering fluid or oil from the tranny are also likely suspects.

(Did the motor contribute more oil to the spot while the car was sitting, or did the spot just spread and grow? Oil will do that.)
