That upper trailing link mostly keeps the axle from torquing forward on the lower control arm under braking. Since the car is FWD and there isn't a lot of load on the rear axle, you could likely drive the car carefully without mishap unless a panic stop comes along. Understand I am not recommending it or suggesting you do so. The real question is where/why/how did it become detached or broken???
