whichever thermostat you choose - warmer 30577561 for 89 degrees Celsius or cooler 8817538 for 82 degrees Celsius - make sure it is genuine Saab thermostat. I'm not saying it's got to be made in Trollhattan, but Saab relies on a special t-stat design which not all 3rd-parties fully copy.

And by the way, -20 (whenever Fahrenheit or Celsius) isn't really that cold. You can use either of 30577561/8817538 thermostats then. The only thing which can give you troubles is the heater by-pass valve assembly which Saab introduced in the very late models - this thing is worth to be eliminated in favor of earlier simpler design.
