boosting half+ into red with stock? Posted by CBS [Email] (#969) [Profile/Gallery] (more from CBS) on Wed, 22 Oct 2014 13:43:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Had my '88 SPG out last weekend and while I usually baby it, I had to show off for my brother. The only mods are the mods to the APC box, 3.0 fuel regulator, and aluminum turbo plumbing from a 9000. My other SPG, and several others I've driven have only sniffed the red zone on the gauge. Not that I'm complaining, but I did lose the clutch -- it slipped pretty badly -- when it got into the torque sweet spot. Don't have the waste gate hose pinched off or anything either. Is this "normal"? It was a nice crisp cool day -- maybe 45 degrees F that I know turbos love.
As for the clutch. I put this one in myself a few months ago. Never even seen it done and I thank you TSN members immensely for the help. Now am wondering if I did something wrong that caused the slippage. I did have the flywheel resurfaced and went through two tanks of gas to avoid glazing the disc. Any prognostications?
