Stinkin sticky brakes Posted by CBS [Email] (#969) [Profile/Gallery] (more from CBS) on Thu, 30 Oct 2014 11:22:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
'88 SPG Winter beater sat for Spring, Summer, into Fall and my first forray this year yesterday exhibited a sticky drivers side front brake. Is it a stuck caliper or arms need greasing or sliding pins need greasing. Or do I need a new/rebuilt caliper due to stuck piston. What do you think?
PS, the pads were stuck to the calipers, which I find to be the case every year at this time, and it just took a highish rpm, clutch out, to get them loose. I read in the archives that some use silicone spray for storage and then brake cleaner to get the stuff off when Winter comes calling. Might be worth trying.
