Zig, sorry for the overstatement. I did check this morning and the BMW latch assy. won't accept the SAAB belt plate. However, the belts are of course the same width and hopefully I can easily migrate the BMW T-plate onto the original SAABie belt system. This of course restores that high belt support to react against the guesstimated 3+ G's that would be applied upon a frontal collison.
The best of both....I'll update when I get the parts converted.
Remember, the SAAB latch assy. still feels the same tensile load at the inboard rear of the seat, as they used the seat framework as the anchor, not the vehicle floor structure. Your points about floorpan loading well taken.
