Still working on this eh? Could it be that the system is so efficient now that it never gets too hot? My instinct is no, since it will still heat to the point that the thermostat opens and thus the heater core should still get coolant at relatively the same temp as a less efficient system. If you lived in Florida you sure wouldn't be worrying about this, but of course, that's not the case. I keep waiting for someone with more knowledge and experience to put forth the magic bullet. But in the meantime the cardboard in front of the radiator trick is a good one. Been using that off and on for years. Still a mystery though since most here rave about the heat put out by their c900s, though I'd call mine average. PS, in both my '88 SPGs the Summer temp is just below half on the gauges while the Winter temp sits just above a quarter on the gauges.
