88' turbo. My question is in regards to failure of ignition distributor. Can other problems with the
car cause repeated ignition distributor failure? Let me tell the story:

1. 1 yr ago, experienced ignition problems (stalling but starting) and replaced unit with rebuilt.
2. Car ran good even during load, but after a couple of months develop small internal oil leak.
3. One month ago, during suspension and brake work, I asked mechanic to try and solve the oil leak; he opened up distributor but didn't know what to do so put back together again.
4. Immediately after that car is bucking/stalling under load but restarts. Almost got stranded on freeway.
5. Have mechanic install used ignition distributor.
6. Under load car once more stalls and this time cannot restart; towing to mechanic reveals no fuel or spark. Install another used ignition distributor, car starts up right away.
7. With this "new" distributor the symptoms are back. Stalling/restarting at freeway speeds under load. This with the third ignition distributor.

Are they all bad distributors or is there something else that could possibly going on?
