The newest 9000 is now 17 years old. That's only 5 years younger than the newest c900 which sounds like a lot until you look at it from a % basis wrt rust - it's still 17 years old... not too many are still intact around here.
There are actually more cars that share a little commonality with the 9000 in terms of form - stuff like the BMW 4GT, the Tesla S, the Panamera. None really have that amazing 9000 hatch though.
We've "moved on" to a 9-5 (for long haul trips especially), but still have 2 c900's we drive regularly around town. I would say that the 9-5 works well, but it is not the same, but in many ways better on the highway. Many would consider a 2008 car (last year of 9-5) old though at 7 years... at least in terms of purchase... we may be outliers here!
