Okay - I've never heard of a manual seat twisting until now, but here's what I think is wrong: There is a seat "Release Mechanism" mounted on the outer frame of the seat, which has two cables, which attach to a lock mechanism at the outer bottom & inner bottom of the seat junction. You most likely need to replace that unit. It is a replaceable part, but the skin has to be removed to enable replacement, and I think the part is discontinued. Junk yard. The hatchback and convertible use different parts (the convertible has shorter cables, I think), so get the right donor seat. Probably easier to replace the whole seat if you can get one. Best of luck. I DID replace one while I was re-skinning a seat. Vern
