I drilled out the stock bulb holders and soldered wire to both Pos and neg side. I wired the bulbs together and patched them into the wiring for the headlight switch. My circuitboard on the back of the cluster was shot. But yes, the bulbs only worked one way and mine would dim. HUGE improvement over stock.
