That's what I have to do as well -- RogerD is skinny enough to get under a car with room to move. I have to do it from above and find that the 1/2 inch extensions don't twist as much as the 3/8" . I really like the idea of full engagement of the socket to the hex. Those dipsticks are put in with some force apparently as I have to really wail on the breaker bar to get them out.

And I really like the idea of welding on a thicker hex to get more surface area.
