I guess I don't fully understand the brake/clutch reservoir connection. At some point the systems split and I'm guessing there must be a check valve to prevent cross-over pressure gains/loss? When I bleed the brakes I don't bleed the clutch...correct?
Blow back from various leaks over the years made it difficult to find but in the end I wrapped all the components in the engine bay associated with the clutch with clean baby blue shop towels. I pumped the clutch pedal with the engine off a dozen times and found the flexible section of the clutch hose damp with fresh fluid. Its not a lot of fluid and I don't see any difference in the reservoir but its clearly loosing air pressure at that point as a result.
I am perplexed about the ABS light on start up and sudden loss/return of brake pressure in a single sudden stop but since it was just an hour before losing clutch pressure I don't see how there couldn't be a correlation.
Although, it has been my experience that everything breaks in three's.... :-(
The syringe is a neat trick. Thanks for explaining how it works. If I were driving the Saab I'd go get one or two. I think its best to wait for the part to arrive and hope my new friend can follow simple instructions.... :-)
