I don't see a problem with the extra length of threaded area. However, it appears that the formed "head" is different between the two. So, to picture it in your head, take the threaded nut portion and slide it away from the formed end. Compare and study those -- the end geometry where it makes the seal inside the clutch slave looks a bit different to me. I'm beginning to think that the one which started leaking on me, has a split in that formed head and is allowing fluid to back through between the threaded nut and the tube. That's where I saw my new hose leaking from.
