What are you looking to replace the stereo with? Something cheap, or something decent?
I ask because a cheap stereo might only offer 8-12 watts RMS, whereas a good stereo might offer 20-25 watts RMS... Sony even has a new line that offers 50w RMS. If you are going to a stereo that has good output, you can ditch the amp in the back. Do NOT be confused by the "MOSFET 4X50" printed on every stereo - that's the max output, not RMS. You need to dig through the manual or specs to find that actual RMS output.
Given that you are going to dump the amp, the only thing you need to do is find the wires I referenced in the two big rectangular plugs and connect them to the new stereo. Run two new wires from the rear speakers to the new head unit. Disregard the two round DIN cables and the small 2-wire connector. That's all there is to it. :)
