When I installed an aftermarket stereo I decided to keep the factory amp on my '93 which powers the rear speakers, everything sounds good but I would remind you that the factory amp and rear speakers are both 2 ohm. In my case I replaced the rear speakers with 4 ohm speakers and this setup continued to sound fine.

What you'll need to do is create an adapter or splice wiring for the amp hookup. What is basically needed is the same for every amp so the wiring can be reused if you put in a different amp in its place in the future (more adapters or splicing would be required). The factory amp will need to be told to power up by the radio, this can be done with a antenna or remote amp wire on the aftermarket radio. The other wiring that you need is pre-amp outputs (usually RCA cables).

On the Saab side factory DIN cable the color of wires are as such after cutting the wire open:

Orange wire: Mute signal return? (Not sure, didn't use)
Brown wire: Remote Amp wire
Black wire: Ground wire
Grey Wire: Contains signal wires

Signal wires:
Violet or Grey - Right channel (requires low level pre amp output)
Green - Left channel (requires low level pre amp output)
Black - Signal ground

I have tried to find the post on saabnet with a diagram of the din cable pin output, it definitely exists but not many people go through the hassle of creating such an adapter. Below should be a link to the pin outputs with no diagram. As said in other posts, you can simply bypass the factory amp.
