I took off the vacuum advance on my new to me distributer cleaned it all up and put it back together, rechecked all my vacuum lines . the line from the throttle body to the evap canister was disconnected. rechecked my timing and holy crap it was almost at 30. i reset it to 16 and wow the number stayed still this time. pumped air into servo and timing fell back this time(why not before?)went for a drive and bam! no more clatter(detonation?) and boost was right below red. everything was great, even my post warm up high idle was gone. so I'm not really sure what i did to solve the issue. why would the time get so high after one day?anyway thanks to all for helping with my annoying questions. it was a lesson for sure on my first 900 turbo. no time to focus on interior.
