Instrument panel problems Posted by Robster501 [Email] (#417) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Robster501) on Thu, 7 Jan 2016 18:22:56 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello,
I swapped over a different instrument panel on a project i am working on. However I cannot get the instrument panel lights(gas, temp gauges, speedo, tach etc.) to light up. The bulbs are all good. All the other lights work fine(Battery, check engine, etc.). The rheostat near the odometer seems to be in working order but it is impossible to tell without the lights working.
All the plugs seem snug.
Lastly, in the attached picture, what are the two prongs for? I do not have anything connected to these prongs. Is this a cause for the lights not working? I attached a 12v power wire to one prong and ground to the other, but it just lit up an "EXT" light and a turn signal.
I do not know what else to check. Any ideas?? this is a 1985 body with a 1990 turbo motor and wiring harness, instrument cluster, dash, etc. if this makes any difference. Thanks!
