New OEM fuel filter, new Bosch distributor cap, and new correct heat range Bosch plugs all within the last year. I recollect having replaced the plug wires also, but probably not with Bougiecords. The last 3 digits on the Bosch ignition computer are 182. Will re-clean the engine grounds, but did that also within the last year. Regarding fan drag issue (never heard of that), I couldn't access the URL or perhaps it was a drop box file (which I normally don't access). Also when I hit the "draw" in saabstalker's second message, I was instructed to download a new version of Adobe Flash Player. Which I did, but it looked loaded with undesirable add-ons, including defaulting all my browsers to Yahoo (which I never use either). Huhhh?

Indy mechanic says he tested fuel pressure regulator and is OK and that there are no vacuum leaks, which I'm reluctant to swallow, because no change in idling when I unscrew the oil filler/dipstick cap... as one would expect if crankcase was under positive vacuum.
