And don't forget to use your windshield washers at the same time as you plow through the pothole, and see if the washers have a Vegas fountain squirt instead of a constant stream. Then, you'll know if it's the washer bottle floating around in the inner fender well.......
I think its something more boring like a worn A arm bushing, sway bar or shock mount like Vern suggested.
But, could it be something more elegant like a motor mount or loose engine mount bracket where the fasteners have dropped out through the bottom of the bracket and are laying where only the smallest of rodents could retrieve it for installation?
We never had a real winter here, so the pothole population is rather slim for now anyway. Since all of the highway funds are being diverted to pay for the lack of taxes once levied on corporations here, we'll have an abundance of potholes in the future, so next year, Kansas will be able to swallow up most small sized cars. Good time to start a tire store here.
