that's funny because I had a 1970 Datsun 510 when I lived in Buffalo NY and recall getting into after drinking a bit too much and the back support of the seat broken, so I simply drove from that point on with the spare tire behind the seat to keep it vertical. Then one frigid morning I had to pull over because it overheated - basically the radiator froze up because the anti freeze was weak and the overheated engine stretched the timing chain, it made a hellacious clattering noise after that but kept going for 2 more yrs, the whole rear end and rear suspension of that car was badly rusted but never broke.
