Need expertise troubleshooting turn signal flasher

Hi folks,
I'm at wits' end on a turn signal problem. The turn signal flasher buzzes whenever I flip the turn signal stalk. Happens for both right and left turns. What I have done so far:
-- Replaced the flasher.
-- Turned the hazard switch on and off about 15 times on several occasions.
-- Checked the ground behind the dash. Looks good. Connections are tight.
-- Checked the integrity of the wiring in and around the dash. Looks good.
-- Taken apart and cleaned out the turn signal switch.
-- Flasher works fine when hazard switch is turned on. All turn signals flash, and intensity of lights shows no significant difference between the front and rear light locations.
None of the above actions have identified the source of the problem. What am I missing? Your advice is solicited.
Vehicle is 1985 900 turbo. Wiring diagrams in Bentley indicate that circuit between hazard switch and turn signal is the same over the entire Classic 900 run.
