Yep - insurance is kind of a scam. For-profit companies that purport to act on your behalf but are legally bound to act for the interests of their boards or shareholders. Bit of a conflict of interest. There is no winning here... probably best to find an organization you like dealing with rather than one you think will ever make you whole (short of a lawsuit).
