I'd be interested in some more details as well.... are we talking about the larger one (to the low side of the turbo) or the smaller one (to the manifold). I initially considered this possibility as the problem appeared 100% coincident with a valve cover swap. While I did not change anything external (hoses, check valve, nipple) I was wondering if maybe the old VC was crudded up inside and restricting flow, flow that is no longer restricted. I will also check my supply of PCV nipples - I'm sure what's on there now is a Proparts or some other junk. Maybe I have an old factory one... at least some options to compare against!
My PCV system is not factory - the factory PCV hose (with the integrated coolant tube) is long, long gone and the low side of the turbo is non-stock as well - it's a 2.5" aluminum tube with a hose barb on it. It's just an emissions hose that connects the valve cover to the intake plumbing. This setup has worked perfectly for nearly two years. Well, that's not fair - the PCV system worked perfectly for two years, the Super60 is a "new" variable... it's been there for many, many months but wasn't part of the original T5 swap. The valve cover is a new details.
I ended up not having the correct oil feed restrictor (mine was .035), so I ordered one from ATP. While waiting, I also started thinking about maybe setting up a catch can - at least temporarily - to help me diagnose where the oil is coming from.
*Maybe* - but probably not related - I found that what was a small oil leak from the from corner of the head has gotten worse. This is an old engine, and I'm guessing both hastily built and a bit abused - and I have been biding my time on replacing it. The oil burning was another little thorn in my side, now I have a real leak. I'm thinking about a head retorque just for grins. When this motor actually comes out, the car will be down for a while so I can work on an EPS system - and I am not ready for that to happen yet! :)
