They actually test the gas cap separately and use their own to test the system.

Looks like they pressurize it to a couple of PSI and you are allowed 0.4 PSI of leakdown over 2 minutes.

It is the one part of the car I have never had to fool with!

I'm guessing the fuel pump lock ring is not properly seated as that was the last thing changed.

Really did not want to touch it again as the return valve connector at the pump is NLA. I had to drill the check valve out of the a sender side one and the nylon hose was a total bear to get on there.

Here in Calif people just give up as labor if you do not DIY is so expensive. Lots of zero rust 900s are scrapped.
