Help to identify missing hose 1982 non-turbo 1 Saabers Like This Post! Posted by 2nd Owner [Email] (#70) [Profile/Gallery] (more from 2nd Owner) on Sat, 24 Oct 2020 16:09:51 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm putting back together a 1982 model that someone else started work on years ago. So far its mostly a complete project.
However, today when removing the Mixture Control Unit I decided to also remove the black plastic part that it screws to (the part that is also the top of the air cleaner) so I could wash it.
Directly under where the fuel distributor control plunger is there is a fitting molded on to that black plastic part that is clearly for a hose, but there is no hose in sight. It's on the underside out of view when looking down. It would be about 5/8" ID I'm guessing. I have looked and looked but can not figure out where the other end would go. I check Bentley but had not luck. I'm thinking that it must be from the crank case or cam cover because there is evidence of oil around it maybe pulling air from there but I see nothing. Who knows, maybe I am also missing the part that it goes to.
Anyone know where this hose runs to? I'd like to measure the length I'd need to buy and pick it up tomorrow when I head into town for some other parts.
