So roughly 2 years ago I lost clutch pedal pressure on the way to the local dog park - managed to get 'er home and in the barely-fits-Saab garag, did a bunch of searches on the board and concluded the clutch master must be shot.
No leaks, fluid is where it should be in the reservoir, clutch otherwise felt good right up until the loss of pressure in the pedal. Anyway, so I bought a new clutch master on eeuro and then life/covid got in the way and never touched the car again...
until yesterday. Since it was pretty much stuck in gear I first pulled it out of reverse to see if it would roll - which I was surprised to see it would. Enlisted my wife to help steer and pushed out of the garage - first time in the light for 2 years! Anyway, hooked the battery back up (still pretty much fully charged!) and decided to fire her up... started on the first crank, little lifter noise for about 5 seconds, then purred like a 198k mi kitten. Anyway, seems the clutch is back to working as it should - pressure is good, can move forward and back in the driveway, etc. So I am thinking this is still the clutch master in failure mode, but in sitting the seals swelled or something and it is temporarily back, or is this not a good assumption before I tear in and replace the clutch master...
