Not the axle, because I've started it once to move it here in my driveway. Noise exists with car not in motion. Harmonic balancer is worth looking into though! It was an extremely exaggerated sound similar to them spinning that big wheel on Wheel of Fortune. (Hoping that analogy makes sense) A sped up "clakity" sound that was very loud. I've had rod knocks happen to me over the years in other cars. This wasn't that sound. It was something rotating and hitting something as it rotated...and causing a burning plastic or rubber smell at the same time. I will post a follow up as to what I discover! Bob
