Sorry to hear you're having such bad luck with these motors. Should just drop right in and go. I'm kind of curious as to what exactly happened to the last couple of motors. If you have good oil pressure and somebody has changed the oil regularly, and there is no sludge you should easily get a couple hundred thousand miles out of one even redlining it. My 900's got 350 horsepower ,I beat the s*** out of it and all I break is the transmissions. I also have a 9000 that's close to 500 horsepower, I've ran it for about 70,000 MI with that much horsepower and of course broke the transmission, rip the teeth off of 4th gear. Been driving the saabs for 20 plus years. The trainees aren't necessarily weak in stock form they'll run a long time but of course you got to remember the transmissions are from the '80s so you tend to need to be easy on the transmissions so you don't tear up gears and synchronizers. They're certainly not making any more transmission parts or gears. I do all my own engine rebuild and training rebuilds. So what exactly happened to the 900 motor that blew up.
