I'm not planning to make much power over stock. Maybe a stock SPG level of power, but nothing crazy. I'm not that young anymore! I am mostly doing this as a fun exercise, "because I can", and to learn something about machining and transmission design. Might also be good for the community. I definitely think the big bearing housing I am making is overkill. I have heard a lot about shearing teeth off the cluster gear. But you also say you've broken teeth off the pinion itself?

Can you post a picture of your stiffening cage? Are you using an aftermarket or homemade welded steel differential cover as well? I've always wondered how the steel diff covers affect oil flow to the pinion bearings, because they'd disrupt the slinging action of the ring gear.
