> Hall sensor defective
It's not a hall sensor issue, you have spark.
A quick way to test this:
1. key on "ON" position.
2. remove distributor ( you can also just slide it out somewhat
3. be careful not to shock yourself or do anything stupid
4. spin distributor by hand (fast as you can). If you hear the fuel pump run / maybe injector click - the hall sensor is good.

Replace your cap and rotor and clean your plugs and make sure the gaps are set right. Just do it, it's easy and cheap enough. I had a few intermittent problems I was chasing on my 90 which is a EZK system, so I was getting hung up on that - turned out the cap was not providing a good connection. I highly recommend getting an OEM (Bosch?) cap and rotor.
