I have an 1988 Saab convertible with 153,000 miles. Very well maintained and has been running great since last issues about a year ago. This past week I went for a drive to view the fall colors, about a 50 mile drive; it ran great. When I got home I shut down in the driveway; later I tried to restart, it struggled, but then ran and allowed me to park in garage. The next day, it would not start up, only crank forever, never even acting like it would start. It has spark to the plugs and it has the proper current to the fuel injectors. When I turn the key to start I hear and feel that both of the fuel pump relays above the ECU in right passenger leg area are apparently activating. However, the fuel pump does not run and there is no fuel pressure at the fuel rail on the engine. I did the hazard light #27 to fuel pump #30 jump in the fuse box and the fuel pump does run. However, it still does not supply fuel to the fuel rail. The fuel pump was replaced about a year ago with an OE Bosch pump and a new pre-pump. The fuel filter canister in front of tank was replaced at that time. Questions, why does the pump not pressurize the fuel rail when even when I power the pump with the jumper. Also why does the fuel pump not run when I first turn on the key with the fuel pump fuse replaced as normal. It does seem like both fuel relays are activating when I turn the key. Also I switched the ECU with a known good one with no change to the problem. Any suggestions as to what to try next to troubleshoot and fix this frustrating problem would be greatly appreciated? Thanks, DaleG
