This morning I was going to replace the main fuel pump because I was convinced that it was not functioning even though it was replaced a year ago. I have had no fuel issues at all with this pump prior to this problem. To make clear to those who suggested to check the fuel pressure; there was no fuel pressure at all. No gas in the fuel rail at the engine even when I jumpered the pump in the fuse box. I was going to change the main pump this morning with a known good one. However, before I did I took a portable 12 Volt power supply and connected directly to the pump in the trunk. The pump ran properly and finally I had gas in the fuel rail after days of being dry no matter how many times I tried by cranking or jumpering the pump in the fuse box. Once it had gas in the rail it started right up. Just to experiment I jumped the fuel pump in the fuse box and this time it actually pumped gas. So for now the car is working fine however I cannot trust it because I did not change any components. The only thing I am guessing is that the portable power supply I had might of had a more power then my battery (which was between 12 -13 V) to jolt the pump into operation. Thanks to all who chimed in with suggestions and if anyone has another idea about this 'miracle' recovery on Halloween I would like to hear it. As I said I do not feel I can trust it. At least this time I did not get stranded away from home.
