Dennis Lin fabricates and sells a fitting you may be interested in (see picture below). The non-threaded end obviously goes into the hole in the block with the usual o-ring, and the ears bolt down using the nearby bolts that hold the transmission to the block. That'd be easy enough to fabricate yourself, but I think he was asking $100 for them and you'd be hard pressed to make one up as a on-off unless you have a tig welder and value your time at $zero.
