Hello,
Sort of sounds like lifters to me. If it is a rod knock it's damaged already. I would bring the rpm's up to 2000 and see if it starts quieting down after a few minutes. If so it's the lifter pumping up. It could take up to 20 minutes for them quiet down. The higher RPM's will provide higher oil pressure to quiet it down quicker. Good Luck, Bernie
