If your car is leaking close to the reservoir, first be sure the the reservoir itself is not leaking and (depending on model year) be sure it is not the clamps on the filter leaking.

As mentioned in this thread changing those hoses with the engine in the car is a huge PITA so I would simply slice in a section of new hose as long as it is not a line under pressure.
