Took the car, (87 turbo), into the smog place I usually use today and the tech failed the car stating that the timing was at 0 degrees when it's set at 16. (New technician). I checked the timing myself when I got home with my basic timing light and sure enough, it's spot on, glowing white out on the 16 degree mark on the flywheel, all Bentley directions followed. (With timing gun correctly on number one bougie)

He used a digital timing light during the test. Could he have mistaken the white out mark for 0 degrees and that's what caused it to fail? (I've never used a digital timing light).

Do you all have any advice as to what I can tell this guy about how to check the timing?
