The brake pedal in automatic cars is about twice as wide as in manual cars. When I did my conversion, I cut the extra width off the pedal with an angle grinder and replaced the rubber cover with the cover from the donor car (same size as clutch pedal BTW). If someone did the same thing, you could pull the cover off the brake pedal to look for signs that it was cut to reduce it's size from automatic to manual sized brake pedal.
