The Automatic Performance Control (APC) protects the engine by detecting engine knock and reducing the boost pressure until the knocking stops. A ‘hot’ APC box, if working correctly, will also shut down the boost if it detects knocking. If you want significantly more boost, you will need more than just a tweaked APC.
