Good to know. Up here in Canada, we have been dealing with this stuff a lot and for many years. Even without tariffs, there are brokerage fees the shipping companies charge to bring items across the border. The trouble now is most parts outlets at least in the USA use drop shipping from multiple warehouses. This is great for their overhead and for speed domestically, but when you get 5 packages for one order with separate brokerage charges, it can be crazy. The other thing to watch for is that they don't evaluate brokerage for the full order multiple times. Sometimes the shipper puts the same bill of sale info into each box rather than only what is exactly in each box. I had an order where the second box contained a $15 tstat left over from a $200+ order and got charged full brokerage for the full order a second time (like $100+ on a $15 part - almost comical). Getting it refunded was nearly impossible because I ended up having to rework all the paperwork and there is a time limit for submission and the carrier (FedEx or UPS, I forget) was slow responding...
So the lesson learned, encourage the shipper to consolidate shipments or break up the documentation appropriately.
