rebuilding engine block for 16v turbo. after crank was polished and balanced, i installed it with new bearings and plastiguaged the bearing clearances. the results are as follows: #1-.002", #2-.002", #3-.0028", #4-.0018, #5-.0018. bentley requires main bearing clearance between .008 and .0024". #1 and #2 are on the outskirts of tolerance and #3 is definitely out. what are options for making up clearance (new crank, oversized bearings, bearing shims, etc.)? or is it just ok to drop in? any help would be great. thanks.
