didn't seem much affected at the time, but now the car is going like slick sh*t off an even slicker shovel. I sometimes thought I noticed higher engine temperature but I have a sensitive gauge and nothng got remotely out of hand - plus there are so many variables. I didn't measure the resistance, just junked the part, sorry - with an old car you expect replacments. I'll be more methodical next time.
BillJ has a manual Aero so is used to higher performance, and perhaps noticed the difference more: also, his mixture was even weaker than mine, 1.03 rather than 1.02 as I remember.
Out of interest, I'm booking in with Abbott next week for suspension work, and asked Giles Fairweather if they could do a dynamometer test. This isn't possible, because they don't have a rolling road, so they'd have to take the engine out! However, Giles says he can estimate the power output by driving the car.
