In no particular order...
"Also, think of the safety. I think your dad will be better off in a SAAB than most other cars."
Goes without saying.
"Because the Saab's depreciate so fast, you can get a lot of car for the money"
Absolutely. I'm having a little trouble with finding cheap automatics, as they're more popular, but I'm sure I'll get there and I've only been looking for about two days. I've also found I could get myself a spare '94 or '95 CSE (manual) for around £2000. I'm looking at having one to take on long motorway journeys, where my modified Aero suspension gets a bit noisy and the extra power just isn't much use while cruising at 70, and also for when I want to take the Aero apart (and if anything happens to it on the track days I'm thinking of going on). One thing at a time, though, and I'll concentrate on my dad's first.
"Besides, since you you already own and work on 9000's, why learn a new animal?"
Exactly. I would feel nowhere near as confident in examining any other car with a view to buying it.
And, well, I just like them. So does my dad - he's been impressed with all 3 of my 9000s, and almost bought one himself a couple of years ago, but the deal (or rather the salesman) went bad.
