... to get the A/C activated, you have to press the Auto (or be in Auto already). Once you deviate from the standard ACC or ACCII program (Auto), the Auto light will go off, however the A/C is still very much functional, although in a manual, or user-controlled mode.
Once you press Econ, the A/C is OFF. To re-engage the A/C, press Auto. This is valid for all ACCs in the Saab 9000 series.
I normally set my ACCII to start in Econ mode, since I seldom need the A/C to cool the interior.
Hope this helps on the function of the Autocratic Climate Control.
