Ok, I will give you my impressions. I just replaced the suspension on my '98 CSE manual. It was a Northern car [rough roads and snow] and the ride was extremely 'soft'. The car would raise and drop with accelleration and braking. Cornering was loose and high speeds not very controllable.

So my point. I replaced the old suspension with one of those Speedparts original 'Aero' option sport suspension kits. Not bad, you get a complete set for the same money that just the struts/shocks cost. I thought all along that the '98 didn't have an Aero suspension. Many different opinions have been given on this subject. I believe now that 'my' car did have a sportier suspension [springs that is] than earlier CSE models. However, since putting the new 'kit'on, the car rides 1/2 inch higher in front now and 1/2 inch lower in back. The old shocks/struts may have just been worn out. The ride quality with the 'kit' has improved somewhat, but the car still has a bouncy feel to the front end. Like the fronts aren't as firm as the rear.

My advise is to check into Koni or Bilstein struts/shocks for improved ride if you aren't into lowering over an inch like myself. Your car may have a good spring setup already.

As far as what I plan to do, I need to further look into why the car isn't firmer with the sport kit. These kits are original options and may have been setting around for years. One can only assume that a strut will deteriorate being assembled and not used. Hope this gave you some ideas.......

Mike
