Greetings 03755!
Having grown up in Hanover (moved away about 20 years ago), I know Saabs are configured to handle far worse than that town can dole out. Try a few winters up in Littleton, at minus 35. And that's nothing compared to Sweden.
Your first order of business is to get that antifreeze mystery solved. I wish I could tell you who to look for, but Saabs are EVERYWHERE in the Upper Valley, and finding a Saab-knowledgeable mechanic should be no problem for you (check the Yellow Pages or ask a series of your professors -- one of them's guaranteed to drive a Saab). There used to be a Texaco station on the left just past Hanover High School (heading out of town past Thompson Arena and the Field House). Or, depending on your automotive aptitude, you might be able to look around and discover the source of the leak yourself. How fast are you losing coolant? In all probability your coolant didn't freeze, but if your hoses are old or if the antifreeze hasn't been serviced in awhile, you might have a pinhole leak somewhere, or a more serious problem. Generally speaking if your hoses are really leaking, you will see a Check Coolant Level warning light on your dash. Don't ignore it, but sometimes you can live with a leak for awhile, just adding coolant from time to time.
On the topic of your non-closing door, hit it with a few good squirts of WD-40. Probably just a little in need of lubrication, and this should help.
Most likely you're experiencing a dead or dying door lock actuator in the rear non-opening door, or possibly a symptom of a door latch in need of lubrication. This may clear up in the spring when it warms up, or someone on this board may have a fix for such a problem. Try searching the archives.
Finally, your dome light. Do you have a drooping headliner? If so, the bracket that holds the fixture may be getting loose. Solution? New headliner.
I have to assume that this car has not been religiously looked after in the areas of lubricating doors and such on a regular basis. Once you get these little bugs worked out, it would be worthwhile to have those things done, or learn how to do them yourself.
What are this year's sculptures on the Green? I do miss that town!
